Orthriophis t. taeniurus - Calico

The calico trait in Chinese Beauty Snakes is a simple recessive mutation. Babies are born with a washed out appearance, the colours develop over the first year. The calico trait is very variable, the pattern looks mosaic, with varying shades of orange, black and white being the main colouration. The Calico gene was first bred by Larry keller of Prairieland Herpetoculture (USA) in the early 90's.
